Unaweza kutunza kuku wakienyeji naukawa nakipato cha uhakika, pamoja na lishe nzuri kwa ajili ya familia.

Ulishaji: Kuku wa kienyeji wanaweza kulishwa kwa kumia mahindi, mchele, na mabaki ya ugali. Vyakula hivi nilazima vikaushwe vizuri na kusagwa vizuri. Ulishaji nilazima ufanyike katika sehemu safi au kwakutumia vyombo vilivyotengenezwa maalumu kwaajilii yakulishia kuku.

Banda: 

Ø  Kuku wawe wa kienyeji au wakisasa, wanahitaji kuwa na banda nzuri kwaajili ya malazi na kuwalinda.

Ø  Wanahitaji chumba chenye nafasi ya kutosha na kinachopitisha hewa ya kutosha.

Ø  Ni lazima kuwawekea fito kwakuwa ndege hupenda kupumzika juu ya fito.

Ø  Ni lazima banda la kuku lifungwe vizuri nyakati za usiku ilikuzuia wanyama wanaoweza kuwadhuru kuku.

Ø  Ni lazima liwesafi wakati wote ilikuzuia magonjwa kama vile mdondo na mengineyo. Usitumie pumba za mbao au nguo kuweka kwenye viovyakutagia kwani huchochea kuwepo utitiri na funza  wa kuku. Inashauriwa kutumia mchanga laini.

Maji ya kunywa: 

Ø  Kuku wapatiwe maji safi. Ni lazima kuangalia marakwa mara na kuyabadilisha maji. Kamwe usiwape kuku majima chafu.

Chanjo: 

Ø  Chanjo kwa mifugo ni lazima ilikuzuia mashambulizi ya magonjwa. Magonjwa yaliyozoeleka ni kama vile Mdono, Kideri, Ndui ya kuku, nahoma ya matumbo (typhoid).

Ø  Chanjo kwakawaida hutolewa maramoja kwa kila baada ya miezi miwili.

Uwekaji wa kumbukumbu: 

Ø  Kumbukumbu zijumuishe aina ya ulishaji, namba ya uzalishaji, muda wa mwisho wa matumizi, kiasi cha malisho kwa kilasiku, idadi ya vifo, na idadi ya mayai yaliyozalishwa.

Mwanzoni unahitaji nini?

Ø  Wafugaji waliowengi wanauliza wanahitaji nini katika hatua za awali ilikuweza kuanzisha mradi wa ufugaji wa kuku. Hii itategemea aina ya kuku uliochagua kufuga.

·         Ni busara kuwa na vifaa muhimu vinavyohitajika na viwe katika hali ya usafi kabla ya kuweka kuku bandani mwako. Kama unaanza na vifaranga, vifuatavyo ni vifaa muhimu vinavyohitajika kwa ajili ya vifaranga 200.

       I.        Tenga na utengeneze banda zuri lenye joto na hewa ya kutosha wakati wote.

     II.        Vyombo vinne (4) vyakunyweshea maji, hii nikatika wiki 2 za mwanzo na uongeze vyombo taratibu kulingana na kuku wanavyokua.

    III.        Vyombo vinne (4) vyakulishia chakula, na viongezeke kulingana na kuku wanavyokua.

   IV.        Matandazo makavu na safi, inaweza kuwa maranda au mabua ya ngano.

    V.        Pakiti moja au mbili za dawa ya Coccid (hii inapatikana katika maduka yote ya kilimo). Hata hivyo, utaratibu wa chanjo nilazima ukamilishwe.

   VI.        Chakula  kwa ajili ya vifaranga ambacho kimezalishwa na watengenezaji wanaoaminika.

Guatemala: Malisho wakati wa kiangazi

Majani haya yanatumika kama chakula cha ziada kwa mifugo wakati wa kiangazi, hayatakiwi kutumika kama malisho pekee.

Majani aina ya Guatemala(Tripsacum andersonii)imesambaa kwa kiasi kikubwa katika ukanda wa tropiki. Aina hii ya majani inahitaji kiasi kikubwa cha mvua, au udongo wenye unyevu, lakini hata hivyo huweza kubaki yakiwa na kijani kibichi wakati wote wa kipindi cha kiangazi.

Nchini Tanzania, majani haya yanapatikana kwenye nyanda za kati, na sehemu zenye miinuko, hasa zenye rutuba ya kutosha kama vile kwenye safu za mlima Kilimanjaro, mlima Meru na Milima ya Usambara. Mimea hii inakuwa kwa wingi, na inafaa zaidi kama chakula mbadala kinachotumika kwa ajili ya mifugo wakati wa kiangazi. Guatemala ina uvumilivu zaidi ya matete (napier grass), lakini ni dhaifu katika uzalishaji na ina virutubisho vichache sana.

Kupanda

Guatemala hupandwa kutokana na vipande vya mashina, na huwa tayari kuvunwa baada ya miezi. Hakikisha kuwa unapata mapandikizi kutoka kwenye chanzo kinachoaminika. Unaweza kupanda kipande cha shina chenye pingili 3, au sehemu ya shina iliyoanza kuota kwa kulaza chini, kwenye sehemu yenye nafasi ya ½ mita x 1 mita. Inahitaji mbolea nyingi kwa ajili ya ukuaji mzuri.

Mseto

Guatemala inaweza kupandwa mseto na desmodium, leucaena, sesbania, au calliandra ili kuongeza mavuno ya malisho makavu yenye protini kwa wingi.

Mavuno na matumizi

Hekari moja ina uwezo wa kuzalisha Guatemala kiasi cha tani 9-22, yakiwa yamekatwa kiasi cha sentimita 10-25 kutoka kwenye usawa wa ardhi. Guatemala hasa hutumika kama akiba ya malisho ambayo hukatwa na kulishwa mifugo wakati wa kiangazi yakiwa mabichi. Majani haya hutengeneza sileji yenye ubora wa wastani. Majani haya yanaweza pia kutumika kama uzio sehemu ya kuishi, au kwenye kontua kwa ajili ya kuzuia mmomonyoko wa ardhi, matandazo shambani, au kwa ajili ya kukausha maji sehemu yenye tindiga. Inatumika pia kama kizuizi cha baadhi ya wadudu kwenye chai, kahawa na viazi.

Guatemala haiwezi kuvumilia kuchungia mifugo au kukatwa mara kwa mara. Haishauriwi kuchungia mifugo kwenye aina hii ya malisho. Inashauriwa kukata kwa uwiano wa siku 30 wakati wa mvua, na uwiano wa siku 42-45 wakati wa kiangazi. Ilikuepuka kuvimbiwa, inashauriwa kukata na kuacha majani haya yanyauke kabla ya kulishia mifugo.

Ubora wa virutubisho

Kwa kiasi kikubwa hii inategemeana na ukataji wa mara kwa mara, mashina yakikomaa yanakuwa na nyuzi nyingi na pia kuwa na kiasi kidogo cha protini na wanga kama hayakutunzwa na kuwekwa mbolea vizuri. Wakati wa hatua tofauti za matumizi, kiasi cha protini pia hutofautiana. Sehemu ya juu iliyokauka inakuwa na asilimia 6.4, sehemu ya juu ambayo ni mbichi inakuwa na asilimia 8.8, sehemu ya majani ambayo ni mabichi inakuwa na asilimia 6.1, shina linakuwa na asilimia 4.6. Kiwango cha protini kinakuwa juu wakati wa wiki 3, na kuzidi kupungua kadri yanavyozidi kukomaa na nyuzi nyuzi kuongezeka.

Majani yanakuwa na kiasi kikubwa cha madini aina ya manganese, chuma, zink na potashiamu. Kutokana na kiasi kidogo cha protini kwenye aina hii ya malisho, malisho mbadala yenye kiasi kikubwa cha wanga na protini inafaa kutumika kwa pamoja na Guatemala kwa ukuaji mzuri wa mifugo. Miongoni mwa vyanzo vya protini vilivyothibitishwa ni pamoja na vyakula vyenye mchanganyiko wa samaki, soya, aina hii ya malisho huwa na matokeo mazuri zaidi kuliko vyakula vinavyotokana na mashudu ya pamba, hasa kinapotolewa kwa kiwango cha kutosha pamoja na majani ya Guatemala.

Miti ya malisho

Guatemala inaweza kupandwa mseto na miti ya malisho. Kwa kufanya hivyo, mkulima anaweza kupunguza au kuondokana kabisa na matumizi ya virutubisho. Utafiti unaonesha kuwa kilo 3 za malisho yanayotokana na miti kama vile calliandra, leucaena, desmodium , viazi vitamu, haradali na aina nyingine za jamii ya mikunde zina virutubisho sawa na pumba aina ya diary meal. Mfugaji anaweza kupunguza gharama kwa kutumia aina hii ya malisho kwa ajili ya mifugo wake.

Ni muhimu kwa mkulima kufahamu kuwa ng’ombe wa maziwa wanahitaji mlo kamili wenye kutia nguvu, protini na vitamini. Mlo huo ni lazima uwe na wanga kiasi cha asilimia 75, Protini asilimia 24 na asilimia 1 ya madini.

JOBS AT KILIMANJARO AIRPORTS DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LIMITED (KADCO)

Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company Limited (KADCO) is a company owned by the government of United Republic of Tanzania charged to manage and develop Kilimanjaro International Airport and its estate.
KADCO is seeking to employ competent, experienced, highly organized and self-motivated Tanzanians to fill the vacant positions described below;

1. Assistant Aircrafts Marshallers:

Post Number (KADC0/01/2017/AAM) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for providing assistance in directing activities on the apron including aircrafts, vehicles, equipment and pedestrians

• Key Responsibilities
• To provide technical information concerning aircrafts parking to airline operators and Air Traffic Controllers.
• Directing Pilots where to park aircraft on the apron,
• Assist in inspection and ensuring cleanliness of the apron area;
• Assist in enforcement of safety and security procedures on the aprons
• Make sure VIP aircrafts are parked in the required manner.
• Ensuring that all working gear are in order

Qualifications 

• Form VI Certificate with two principal passes in any subject two of which should be English, Mathematics, Geography or Physics
• Knowledge in any other foreign language will be an added advantage.
• Certificate in Aircraft Marshalling will be an added advantage.

2. Airport Security Officers:

Post Number (KADC0/02/2017/ASO) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for safeguarding KIA’s property, passengers and cargo against acts of unlawful interference, damage and theft.

• Key Responsibilities
• Providing screening services to departing passengers, baggage, mail and cargo.
• Preventing and spotting any suspicions of theft and burglary at the airport,
• Monitoring CCTV and doing general surveillance.
• Ensuring security of passengers, cabin crews, aircrafts and visitors at the airport.
• Collecting any threat information in respect of insecurity of civil aviation, bomb threats, hijacking and report to the concerned authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Social Science from a recognized Institution.
• Knowledge of Aviation Security and any foreign language will be added advantage.
• Not below eighteen (18) or above thirty five (35) years of age (ICAO requirement) and has not inclined to drug and alcohol abuse.
• Applicants shall be of good mental, physical and health state to the extent necessary to perform the security duties to and adequate standard.
• Having clean background check.
• Applicants should declare that, he/she has no criminal convictions and any misrepresentation of facts is grounds for refusal of employment or disciplinary proceedings or criminal charges

3. Artisans: (Electrician, Carpenter and Plumber)

Post Number (KADCO/03/2017/Art) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for performing wide range of repairs, maintenances and installation of the electrical, carpentry and Plumbing works at KIA.

• Key Responsibilities
• Implementing preventive maintenance as per schedules/ program
• Perform repair works,
• Initiate modifications where proved necessary,
• Controlling, keeping and protecting working tools and equipment against loss or damage
• Checking on daily basis of all airport equipment and facilities such as AGL, pavements and utilities so as to determine need for service or maintenance.

Qualifications 

• Form IV Certificate
• Trade Test Grade III or Level I in Electrical, Carpentry and Plumber from a recognized institution.

4. Technician (Electrical, Mechanical and Civil):

Post Number (KADCO/04/2017/Tech) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for assisting Senior Technician in executing Electrical, Mechanical and Civil works.

• Key Responsibilities
• Implementing preventive maintenance as per schedules/ program
• Monitoring repair works.
• Controlling, keeping and protecting working tools and equipment against loss or damage. Checking on daily basis of all airport equipment and facilities such as AGL, pavements, utilities and vehicles so as to determine need for service or maintenance.

• Liaising with other stake holders interested in making alterations to existing structure and report to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution
• Three (3) years of relevant working experience

5. VIP Attendant:

Post Number (KADCO/05/2017NA) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for enhancing good guests’ relation and ensuring proper handling and facilitation of VIP passengers.

• Key Responsibilities
• Enhancing guest relations, VIP handling and facilitation
• Serving refreshments to VIP users and ensuring cleanliness of the VIP Lounge
• Monitoring and maintain records of dishware and refreshment stock.
• Ensure travel of VIP is taken care in most efficient manner in consideration of the sensitivity of the situation without compromising safety and security.
• Daily inspection of all electronic devices within the lounge such as telephone, Wi-Fi routers, air conditions and television to ensure they are in good order and work properly.
• Assist checking in the VIP and handling their luggage.
• Picking up the VIP luggage at the conveyer belt area when they arrive.

Qualifications 

• Certificate in Hospitality course from a recognized Institution
• Form IV Certificate
• Knowledge in any other foreign language will be an added advantage.

6. Business Development Officer

Post Number (KADC0/06/2017/800) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for providing customer care and promoting of Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Key Responsibilities 

• Maintaining and updating contract register,
• Implementing sound Airport promotion plan,
• Implementing customer visit plan in order to develop good business relations,
• Inspecting leased premises so as to oversee its proper use and adherence to terms of the agreement,
• Receiving and assisting clients by providing them with the necessary information relating to charges and availability of space for lease, advertisement, concessionaire and taxi services.
• Preparing and analyzing airport traffic data monthly
• Collecting Market intelligence data and information so as to identify threats and opportunities; for management information and decision making

Qualifications 

• Holder of Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Business Administration specialized in (Marketing) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Experience in Airport marketing will be an added advantage.
• Computer Knowledge.

7. Airport Operations Officer:

Post Number (KADC0/07/2017/A00) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for assisting Senior Operation Officers in ensuring that airside airport operations are safe and efficiently undertaken, in addition to ensure that efficient services are offered in the terminal building.

• Key Responsibilities
• Assist to co-ordinate airport, apron and terminal operations to ensure the smooth running of airport activities;
• Assist in monitoring activities of apron Management, utilization of airside vehicles and equipment on the airside;
• Assist in ensuring cleanliness and smooth operations of terminal buildings, VIP lounge, apron areas and surrounding environment;
• Assist in monitoring the availability of services of retail shops, restaurant, taxi and other concessionaires;
• Facilitate and monitor the movement and handling of aircraft, passengers and cargo;
• Carry out daily aerodrome surface and lighting inspections as required in the Aerodrome Manual and when requested by the Air Traffic Services.
• Liaise and monitor quality of services provided by the contracted cleaning team in the Terminal Building and VIP lounge;
• Manage wildlife movement at the airport surrounding.
• Ensure VIP aircrafts are parked in a required manner.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Laws, Operations/Logistics or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• Certificate of Airport Operations.

8. Record Management Officer:

Post Number (KADC0/08/2017/RMO) 
The incumbent is broadly responsible for managing incoming and outgoing mails and distributing them as appropriate.

• Key Responsibilities
• To ensure that a file register is in place.
• To receive incoming mail, stamp and record them in relevant register.
• To send mail preview box to preview officers and record daily movement of files
• To ensure letters have all attached documents referred to and signed by relevant desk officers after attending them.
• To ensure that envelopes are affixed with proper stamps and addressed correctly
• To circulate flimsy file to the authorized officers.

Qualifications

• Holder of Bachelor Degree in Records Management or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• Three years of relevant working experience in Government organization with highest degree of integrity, good communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer knowledge.

9. Assistant Firemen Officer

The incumbent is broadly responsible for the following responsibilities;

• Assist in provision of emergency response services during an aircraft accident or incident which may exist at the time of landing, taking off, taxing, parked etc.
• Assist in carrying out inspection of the Rescue and Fire Fighting facilities
• Participate in fire drill exercises

Qualifications 

• Form IV Certificate and passed science subjects Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology
• Certificate of Basic Fireman ship

Remuneration
